Kingsley Suamataia (born January 18, 2003) is an American football offensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Oregon Ducks and BYU Cougars.
Of Samoan descent, Suamataia was born on January 18, 2003, in Orem, Utah.[1] He spent time living in his mother's hometown of Laie, Hawaii, before moving back to Utah and attending Orem High School.[1][2] A five-star recruit, he received offers from programs such as Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame, Oregon, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Utah and USC. He ultimately committed to play college football for the Oregon Ducks.[3][4]
During Suamataia's first year at Oregon in 2021, he was redshirted and only played in one game.[5] However, after the 2021 season on October 26, it had been reported that Suamataia had entered the transfer portal.[6] On November 5, 2021, Suamataia decided to transfer to Brigham Young University.[7][8][9] During the 2022 season, Suamataia played in 12 games starting in all of them, and he did not allow a sack on the season.[10][11] He was also named to the Freshman All-America Second Team by the Athletic and by College Sports News, additionally he was named All-Independent First Team Offense by College Football Network.[12]
