Murals depicting Columbus inside the Main Building of the University of Notre Dame, painted by Vatican artist Luigi Gregori between 1882 and 1884. These murals have been covered by removable tapestries since 2020, amid ongoing controversy over their depiction of Indigenous people.[181]
