Lucas Ribeiro Costa (born 9 October 1998) is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for South African club Mamelodi Sundowns.
Ribeiro Costa is a youth product of Pinheiros, and then moved to France with Valenciennes.[1] Ribeiro Costa made his professional debut with Virton in a 3-2 Belgian First Division B win over Roeselare on 27 October 2019.[2] On 30 June 2020, Ribeiro Costa signed with Charleroi.[3]
On 1 February 2021, Ribeiro Costa moved to Belgian First Division B club RWDM on a loan deal until the end of the season.[4]
On 11 August 2021, he joined Mouscron on a season-long loan with an option to buy.[5] On 19 January 2022, Mouscron loan was terminated and Ribeiro Costa was loaned to Waasland-Beveren until the end of the season.[6] The option to buy was triggered on 6 April, and he signed a two-year contract with the club.[7]
On 6 July football club Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed his signing for a undisclosed fee.[8]
On 4 August, he made is debut for Mamelodi Sundowns in the Premier Soccer League in a 2-1 win against Sekhukhune United, where he scored his first goal for the club in the 57th minute.[9]
On 12 November 2022, he won his first cup with Mamelodi Sundowns as they beat Wydad Casablanca in the 2nd leg of the African Football League final in Pretoria with a score of 2-0 (3-2aggr).[1]
