Mark Gillespie is a British businessman, talent manager and record producer. He is the co-founder of Three Six Zero, a music management and entertainment company founded in London and now based in Los Angeles.[1]
Gillespie was born in Redditch, near Birmingham, in the United Kingdom.[2] Gillespie began working for the Birmingham superclub Godskitchen in a back-office role and later transitioned to talent booking.[3]
Gillespie has also served as a member of the Chrodial Advisory Board. He has also served as a Senior Advisor at Opulous.[4]
Gillespie co-founded the talent management company Three Six Zero with partner Dean Wilson in 2007, who later left the company in 2017[5][6]
In 2011, an agreement was established between the Gillespie's company and Roc Nation to collaborate on live events, recording projects, and sponsorship deals, before creating a record label and publishing company in 2014, in partnership with Warner Music and Warner Chappell Music. They finalized deals with Good Times Ahead, Cut Snake (band) and Anabel Englund.[7]
The label re-launched as a joint-venture with Sony Music in 2018 and the following year the label announced Pete Tong would act as President.[8][9] The company acquired the London based Sarm Studios from Trevor Horn in 2022.[10]
In 2007, Mark Gillespie founded Three Six Zero, an entertainment and management company. Around the same time, electronic music artist Calvin Harris was also making his debut with his album "I Created Disco." Gillespie signed Harris, establishing a significant partnership with Three Six Zero. Harris' second album achieved chart-topping success in the UK, propelling both Three Six Zero and Gillespie's reputation as successful managers. Together, Harris and Gillespie have collaborated with prominent artists in the music industry, including Migos, Frank Ocean, Nicki Minaj, Pharrell Williams, and many others.[11]
Gillespie produced the feature film Vox Lux starring Natalie Portman and Jude Law[12] and later acquired Westbrook Entertainment in a 2019 deal with Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith.[13][14]
In 2022, Gillespie acquired Frontline Entertainment from Craig Dorfman, a talent company managing Jabari Banks and others.[15]
In 2023, Gillespie lead the funding for True Brit Entertainment, a theatrical distribution company founded by Zygi Kamasa focusing on British feature films and television.[16]
