Medina is a Swedish hip hop and rap duo formation with Arabic influences made up of Swedish artists of Tunisian descent, being Sam-E (real name Sami Daniel Rekick), a former professional football player in Tunisia and Alibi (real name Ali Jammali). The two started making music in 2003 under the name Medina after they met in Knivsta promoting a special genre they called "Haffla music" with rhythm from the East mixed with hip hop.[1] After three successful albums, namely Rumble in Fiskayyet, Fullblod and 7 dar, they went on to release a series of three recordings under the title Varsågod de e gratis. The duo is enjoying a comeback in 2012 with their album Hayat and the single "Där palmerna bor".
