The Melon Music Awards (Korean: 멜론 뮤직어워드) is a major music awards show that is held annually in South Korea and organized by Kakao M (a Kakao company) through its online music store, Melon.

The award ceremony was first held online from 2005 to 2008. It was held offline officially starting from 2009.[1]

The awards show underwent a logo rebranding starting with the 2019 edition.

On October 28, 2020, Kakao M announced that the 2020 Melon Music Awards would be held for 4 days from December 2 to 5, dubbed as "MMA Week", and be broadcast online due to government restrictions imposed because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.[2]
