Mezhevskoy District (Russian: Межевско́й райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the twenty-four in Kostroma Oblast, Russia. It is located in the north of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,178 square kilometers (841 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Georgiyevskoye.[1] Population: 2,995 (2021 Census);[8] 4,461 (2010 Census);[2] 5,851 (2002 Census);[9] 6,993 (1989 Census).[10] The population of Georgiyevskoye accounts for 56.3% of the district's total population.[2]
