The snake is found in Brazil and Suriname.[2] It is nocturnal and preys on reptiles and on other vertebrates that resemble snakes.[1] It may be found in forests of the Amazon basin up to 400 metres (1,300 ft) above sea level, including disturbed forests, and in and around settlements.[1]
