Komaram Puli is an upcoming Indian film. Puli is directed by S. J. Surya, who previously directed Kushi with Pawan Kalyan. Komaram is taken from the surname of the Gond martyr Komaram Bheem, who fought against the erstwhile Asaf Jahi dynasty for the liberation of Hyderabad State. The music for the film is composed by A. R. Rahman. The film is produced by Singanamala Ramesh. Pawan Kalyan will be playing a cop in this film; he has gone through a makeover to suit himself to the role of a powerful cop with a moustache.

Hansika, who was supposed to do the female lead, has opted out.^[1] Nikisha Patel is playing the lead female role as superident of police in the movie^[2] and actress Shriya Saran is doing a guest appearance in a song. The other prominent stars in the movie include Manoj Bajpai, Charan Raj, Nassar, Jyothi Krishna, Bhrahmaji, Ali, and Girish Karnad. It is believed that the project is worth Rs. 35 crore. Geetha Arts has obtained the distribution rights of the film for Rs. 45 cr. from Singanamala Ramesh.

Production

Puli is S. J. Suriya's project. Initially, it was made for actor Vijay in Tamil, but due to some problems with him in the story, the movie was then delayed by the director. Then the story was discussed with Malayalam superstar Suresh Gopi and Telugu superstars Mahesh Babu and Pawan Kalyan. Later, after the confirmation from Pawan Kalyan, it was finalised for the shoot in Telugu.

The film was shot at various locations in Chennai and Hyderabad. Aspire Systems, Dilsukh Nagar Hyderabad, Siruseri Chennai is shown as PULI Headquarters. Puli is scheduled for release in June 1 week 2010; the audio will be released by the first week May2010. There are 7 songs in the album. One of the songs is a straight Tamil song picturized on Simbhu. Pawan Kalyan is playing dual roles. One of the role is Officer Komrum Puli.

Soundtrack

The score and soundtrack of the movie will be composed by A. R. Rahman. The ai\udio is scheduled to release in first week of May. The tracklist have officially released and will be as follows.^[3]
