Rebecca Patricia Armstrong (Thai: รีเบคก้า แพทรีเซีย อาร์มสตรอง; born 5 December 2002), more commonly known as Becky (Thai: เบคกี้), is a Thai actress and model of Thai and British descent.[1][2][3]
Armstrong began her acting career with the drama series TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love and Secret Crush on You.[4] She received greater recognition for starring in the drama Gap: The Series[5] and the romance comedy movie Long Live Love![6]
Armstrong was born on 5 December 2002 in Bangkok, Thailand. Her mother is Thai and her father is British. She has an elder brother, Richie.[7]
Armstrong's education has been characterized by multiple international transitions. She began her schooling in Australia and then moved to Thailand, where she attended Shrewsbury International School. Subsequently, she relocated to New Zealand, attending multiple schools there. Upon returning to Thailand, she attended Wattana Wittaya Academy, where she had to work hard to regain her fluency in the Thai language. Her educational journey continued with a stint at Victoria College, Belfast, followed by her return to Shrewsbury International School. In her final year of high school, Armstrong chose to study Business Studies, History, English, and Drama.[8]
Armstrong is currently pursuing a degree in Law with Criminology and Psychology at the University of Essex.[9]
Armstrong's acting career began in 2020 when she played "Thanya"[10], a supporting role, in TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love, a sequel to the popular series TharnType: The Series.[11] She was announced as part of the cast in May via Twitter.[12] The series premiered in November of the same year. In early 2022, she played the supporting role of "Fon" in Secret Crush on You.[13]
In late 2022, Armstrong played "Mon", her first lead role, in Thailand's first Girls' Love series Gap.[14] The performance gained her widespread fame internationally and multiple awards. The series surpassed 500 million views on YouTube.[15]
Armstrong starred as "Namo" in Long Live Love!, a romantic comedy movie about a broken family released in June 2023, alongside Sunny Suwanmethanont and Araya A. Hargate.[16][17] The movie made over 100 million baht[18][19] and is one of the highest-grossing Thai movies in 2023.[20] The movie had several screenings internationally, including the United States[21] and Brazil.[22] The film was released globally on Netflix in October 2023.[23]
Armstrong played the lead role in the short film and music video No Worries, along with LYKN, a boy group under GMMTV's music production studio Riser Music.[24][25]
Armstrong describes herself as adventurous, with interests in sports like football, tennis, archery, shooting, and rock climbing. She also expressed a fascination with sharks and marine biology.[8]
Armstrong has a pet French Bulldog named Bonbon.[1]
