Ronke Giwa-Onafuwa, popularly known as Ronnie G, is a Nigerian radio presenter and broadcaster[1][2][3] [4][5] She received the Nigerian Broadcasting Award for Most Popular Radio Personality (Southwest Zone).[1][2][3][6][7]
Ronke Giwa was born in Lagos State, Nigeria. She attended Lagos State University where she studied English language and literature.[8][9][6] She then moved to London to study music performance and production at the London Centre for Contemporary Music.[10][1][3][6][11] When she returned to Nigeria, she attended the University of Ibadan where she obtained a master's degree in Communication and Language Arts.[1][10][3][2]
Ronke Giwa joined the broadcasting industry during her year with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Ibadan.[12][1][13] She has worked with Splash FM in Ibadan as a radio presenter since 2009, and heads the digital media unit.[14] [15][6][16] She is also the host of the popular early morning show ''Morning Splash'".[17][1][13][18]
She also sometimes writes books, and is the author of two books: Lara's Lessons and Lulu Learns.[19][20][21][15]
Ronke Giwa worked with Splash FM for eleven years. In December 2020 she bowed out of the radio station, with the aim to pursue more greater height in her career.[22][23][24]
After leaving the integrity station, she joined Vintage FM in Ibadan, and was chosen as the general manager of the station due to her expertise as an ace broadcaster.[8][24][2]
On 2 March 2024 Ronke Giwa announced her departure from Vintage FM through her social media platforms and news,[25] stating that she can't work in a place where decisions are taken in a way that does not align with her standard.[25]
Ronke Giwa got engaged to Adebajo Onafuwa on 4 June, 2016.[1][24][23][6] They have three children.[20][1][26][27]
