Santessonia is a genus of lichenized fungi in the family Caliciaceae. The genus is distributed in Africa and South America, and contains three species.[1]

The genus was circumscribed by Mason Ellsworth Hale and Gernot Vobis in Bot. Not. vol.131 on page 1 in 1978.

The genus name of Santessonia is in honour of Rolf Santesson (1916–2013), who was a Swedish lichenologist and university lecturer.[2]
