Sausage Party: Foodtopia is a upcoming American adult computer-animated television series that sets as a sequel based on the R-rated animated comedy film, Sausage Party. The series developed by co-writers Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffer and features an ensemble cast that includes Seth Rogen (who co-created and produced the film), Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton, Will Forte, Natasha Rothwell, Sam Richardson and Yassir Lester. Produced from Point Grey Pictures, Shaffirwich, Annapurna Television and Sony Pictures Television, the series is set to be released in 2024 from Amazon Prime Video.[2]
Will Forte, Natasha Rothwell, Sam Richardson and Yassir Lester are set to have disclosed roles.
It was announced in October 2022 that Amazon has ordered an 8-episode sequel series based on the film with the co-writers Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffer returning to develop and executive produce the series under their company Shaffirwhich while some of the cast (including Rogen who created the film and producing the series) returning to reprise their roles, along with new members like Will Forte, Natasha Rothwell, Sam Richardson and Yassir Lester.[2] Unlike the film being produced by Nitrogen Studios, now acquired by Cinesite, Bardel Entertainment will handle the animation for the series and will be produced from Point Grey Pictures, Amazon MGM Studios, Annapurna Television, and Sony Pictures Television.[3] Former Blue Sky Studios executive Andrew Millstein, who now runs Annapurna’s animation division with Robert L. Baird after it’s first film Nimona (2023) was released on Netflix, executive produces with Rogen, Goldberg, James Weaver, Alex McAtee, Megan Ellison and Patrick Chu on the series while co-director Conrad Vernon returns as a supervising director.[4]
