Savon Scarver (born December 23, 1998) is an American gridiron football wide receiver for the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He played college football at Utah State.
Scarver played high school football at Centennial High School in Las Vegas. Scarver was a three-star recruit coming out of high school and committed to play football at Utah State.[1][2]
After recording 156 receiving yards, two receiving touchdowns, 742 return yards, and two return touchdowns, he was named a Consensus All-American as an all-purpose back.[3] For his efforts, he was named the recipient of the 2018 Jet Award, given to the top return specialist in college football.[4]
Scarver signed with the Chicago Bears as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2022, but was waived three days later.[5][6]
Scarver signed with the Ottawa Redblacks as a member of their practice squad on September 22, 2022, but did not play in a game in 2022.[7] In 2023, Scarver played in the first five regular season games where he recorded seven receptions for 69 yards and three punt returns for 18 yards. He was then demoted to the practice roster and then later released on July 26, 2023.[8]
On February 7, 2024, it was announced that Scarver had signed with the Toronto Argonauts.[9]
