A fact from First Shift (film) appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 28 April 2024 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Did you know... that Uwe Boll has described his 2024 crime drama film First Shift as the least violent in his body of work?

Long enough, new enough. No maintenance templates or neutrality or copyright complaints, and this is your fourth nomination, so no QPQ needed. ALT0 much more interesting, but does not check out - source says "a lot less violent" and the hook and article say "no more violent", and these are not the same thing. Let's have an amended hook please.--Launchballer 10:23, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Hi User:Launchballer - just hit an edit conflict and discovered you beat me to reviewing this one! Would echo your review above re sources, neutrality, etc., being all okay. Re the first hook, I would also note that "kinder, gentler side" does not appear to be a direct quote from Boll, which could be perceived as misleading. Another alt hook suggested below. I don't have a problem with that part of the hook, although I must see the quote marks removed, and I definitely would like to see an end-of-sentence citation.--Launchballer 11:00, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Launchballer: I'm using "no more" as an adverb meaning "in no greater degree"; as such, "no more violent" can be read as equivalent to "a lot less violent". As for the main hook, I forgot to attribute the quote to THR in the hook (as per WP:DYKHOOK), since it's written in their own voice. Before I propose a modification to the main hook, I'd like to see your thoughts on this. Got no problem with ALT2, as well, tho I disagree with the removal of the quotes, citing WP:DYKHOOK again; I've added the citation as requested. EDIT: Movie's no longer "upcoming", having debuted in Germany last April 10. Nineteen Ninety-Four guy (talk) 13:55, 15 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not convinced, sorry. "No more than" and "in no greater degree than" I interpret as "less than or equal to". (ALT0 definitely should be struck, and with hindsight I should have whinged about tenses as well.)--Launchballer 09:35, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Much better, although opinions can change. Might be worth adding to the hook something like "has stated that he" or "stated in March 2023 that he".--Launchballer 11:24, 16 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Apologies, by tenses I meant that the hook should not have talked about his film in future tense (it should have left the year out). If you're alright with ALT4: ... that Uwe Boll has described his 2024 crime drama film First Shift as the least violent in his body of work?, I should be able to approve it, as I'm not introducing any new information.--Launchballer 11:15, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
