What a fine, fascinating and well-written article. Even moving, with the detail of his funeral. Comments soon. Chiswick Chap (talk) 15:07, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I really can find very little to say in the way of needed improvements.
Peltigera canina is the Dog Lichen, so we might as well give its English name (and it certainly deserves its own article).
Done, and stubbed an article for the lichen. Esculenta (talk)
The Swedish filosofie kandidat is mis-spelt.
Fixed. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Dissertation need not be wikilinked.
Perhaps, but would prefer to keep this link; at the FAC for Edvard August Vainio, I was asked to w-link this word ... Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Suggest we repeat "Uppsala" rather than saying "It was at the [unnamed] university" as it's some sentences away from the previous mention.
Done. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Suggest we gloss "docent" with "(reader)".
I think "reader" might be confusing to those not familiar with UK-based academia; instead I glossed with "(an academic appointment below the rank of Professor) "
"floristic papers on the lichens" - suggest we delete "floristic", it won't help the reader.
Ok, done. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
"In the obituary she wrote about Degelius" -> "In her obituary of Degelius".
That's better, changed. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Askim should be wikilinked at the first instance, not the next.
Done. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Suggest we gloss Askim at first instance with ", a district of Gothenburg" as there's one in Norway as well.
Sure, done. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
You might like to use |author-mask= to avoid repeating "Degelius, G." all the way down the list of works.
Done. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It'd also be nice to add |ref=none to the works to avoid the Harv warnings that pop up.
Added. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I know what Graphis scripta is but many readers won't. It'd be nice to gloss it with something like "the journal Graphis scripta, named for a species of lichen". A brilliant name, by the way.
Now glossed as suggested. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Why don't we have a picture of Degelia in the 'Eponymy' section?
I may end up doing that, but am still hunting for an image of a species that was named after him. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Thanks for taking the time to review; I hope the changes are satisfactory. Esculenta (talk) 18:21, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Super, it's a pleasure to see such good things being brought to GA, which standard this article has certainly reached. I do hope you'll take the time to pick an article or two from the GAN queue to review! All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 19:45, 7 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
