I have just modified 7 external links on List of Doctor Who home video releases. Please take a moment to review my edit. If you have any questions, or need the bot to ignore the links, or the page altogether, please visit this simple FaQ for additional information. I made the following changes:
This page is very large and jumbled. I feel like it could greatly benefit from a group of editors going through it and neatening things up and taking things out. Would it be good to split the page into two, and have "List of Doctor Who DVD releases" and "List of Doctor Who VHS releases" or something? Even then, the page would still be long and complex. How about another split for the classic series DVD releases and new series DVD releases? I feel like this is an important discussion to be had. Yes, it is very hard to read and use as a resource. I believe it really needs to be split into separate DVD and Blu-Ray pages, like with VHS. JonathanDP81 (talk) 06:22, 3 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think that split would make sense as (aside from 'The Collection') the Blu-ray releases have had identical DVD counterparts. It might make sense to give 'The Collection' its own section as it's a separate range from the single-serial releases. LostTL (talk) 22:00, 21 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The use of superscripts (A), (B) and (D, B) messes up the date sorting in the column headers. Additionally, (A) appears in the table but not in the legend, so I'm not sure what it is for. If this were split into DVD and Blu-ray pages, then the superscripts would no longer be necessary and date sorting would work again.--Legalize (talk) 23:32, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the split as well. The blurays are grouping whole seasons together which (with two exceptions) the DVD's did not do. The blurays include new extras like the "Behind the Sofa" featurettes. Now I know we aren't listing each extra for these but it does point out that the blurays are not identical to the dvds. I like your split Etron81. Thanks for your work! MarnetteD|Talk23:22, 26 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My initial thought was to disagree, but I think a split makes more sense after looking at the drafts. My only suggestion might be to include a note on the DVD article next to serials that also received Blu-ray releases, with a link to the Blu-ray list; for the Eighth Doctor onwards, this can just be noted in the opening paragraph before the table. – Rhain☔00:12, 27 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I have an ebook version of this and will work on this - it only covers the UK releases fully - US/AUS releases are not covered in detail Etron81 (talk) 15:09, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I started with the 2nd Doctor section as the first doesnt seem to have amazon links - I'm removing amazon ref for the R2 releases as I go Etron81 (talk) 16:06, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
