Hi, I'm an admirer of Mr. Farnsworth's work. I've updated the original entry, even transcribing a videotaped interview that he did in Japan. I know that over the years, someone might pick up one of his movies and wonder who he was. I hope I've done him some honor.
As I've said in the article. While the videotaped interview done while he was on a press Junket to Japan in 1999 following the release of The Straight Story is priceless, I do hope that whomever posted it it on YouTube will re-post it without the sad byline of his death. As it is, the wording seems sensationalist and disregards the circumstances under which it happened.
A more fitting tribute would be, "Richard Farnsworth, Stuntman, Western movie actor and Oscar Nominee, 1920 - 2000.

It's known that Richard Farnsworth made many uncredited appearances when he was starting out. I believe I spotted one in the film, Outlaw Josie Wales. I don't know the time stamp. However, it is where Wales parles with the Comacheros. Four riders come out to meet him. Farnsworth, I believe, is on the farthest left facing Wales. He utters about five words, then is shot during a gunfight. I cannot find any reference to that scene that confirms my claim. But, due to Farnsworth's distinctive voice I think it was him.
