Merger?[edit]

Anti-Communist Volunteer Militia article is the same as the V.A.C. article

it would be more useful to merge the two articles with a new more inclusive name

may be Anti Communist Volounteer Militia_(V.A.C.)

the hyphen is wrong

then there is the problem the term covers three different organizations in Slovenia, Dalmatia/Bosnia and Montenegro and the correct name changed lightly in each country

Bande V.A.C. was more common in Dalmatia

M.V.A.C. was used in Slovenia but in Dalmatia was used to descibe the regimental level units not the organization as a whole

The White Guard was actually a distinct organization, which was used as part of the MVAC. Hence the confusion. I'll try to fix that. Jean-Jacques Georges (talk) 14:55, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Then again, the article could also redirect to Slovene Home Guard, since the monicker "White Guard" is quite frequent for this organization (actually more than for the MVAC, it seems), or it could be just changed into a disambiguation page. Merge proposal[edit]

Ok, as you can see above, I have some responsibility in the current situation, as I created the article which was originally a redirect towards Anti-Communist Volunteer Militia. However, I think this was a bad idea for the start, as "White Guard" was only a nickname given by Slovene Partisans to several organisations : the Slovene Anti-Communist Volunteer Militia, the Slovene Home Guard, and the Slovenian Alliance as a whole. I think it would be better to have a redirect to the disambiguation page, and explain there that the name was used to refer to several different groups (creating a Slovenian Alliance might be useful, too, but that's another matter).
