The Tawaramoto Domain (田原本藩) is a domain in Tawaramoto Jinya in Tawaramoto, Toichi-gun, Yamato Province (present-day Tawaramoto, Tawaramoto-cho, Shiki-gun, Nara Prefecture).[1][2]
The rulers of the Tawaramoto Domain were the Hirano clan. Hirano Nagayasu, the ancestor of the Hirano clan, served Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and became one of the "Seven Spears of Shizugatake" with distinguished war service in the Battle of Shizugatake in 1583, and was given a chigyo of 5,000 koku in Yamato Province. After that, Nagayasu's apparent success was not often seen, but in the territory, he consolidated the ruling system and established a good government, and especially in the territory, Terauchi-cho was called "Yamato Osaka" and showed great bustle.[citation needed]
Nagakatsu, who succeeded after Nagayasu's death, is working hard to build a jinya. However, because of the small feudal lord, his finances gradually deteriorated, and after the middle of the Edo period, it was not uncommon to impose money on the people of the domain. The Hirano clan continued to rule until the Meiji Restoration, but Nagahiro was the official lord of the domain was only for only three years with 10,000 koku.[citation needed]
