This template is used on approximately 3,300 pages and changes may be widely noticed. Test changes in the template's /sandbox or /testcases subpages, or in your own user subpage. Consider discussing changes on the talk page before implementing them.

Usage

This template is intended to be put at the top of biographical articles which rely primarily or entirely on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) as a source. It places the articles in Category:Articles sourced by IMDb or an appropriate subcategory.

If a significant amount of material is attributed to sources other than IMDb, but there is still unreferenced material, consider using ((BLP refimprove)) instead. Add ((BLP unsourced section)) at the top of biographical sections with no references.

Parameters

This template takes three named parameters:

|date=, to add the date manually
|only=, if IMDb is the only source, then add |only=yes – the default is "no". The ((BLP IMDb-only refimprove)) template is a wrapper for this template with the |only=yes parameter included.
|living=, if the article's subject is not alive, then add |living=no – the default is "yes". This parameter set to "no" will omit the final sentence of the template, and the first link will then go to WP:BDP, which explains that WP:BLP may still apply to non-living persons under certain conditions.
