A population centre is not the same thing as a town or city.
A population centre is a series of census dissemination blocks that reach an urban standard of population density, and does not correspond to municipal boundaries. A place's "population centre" can include areas outside of the city if urban development is continuous, and can exclude areas in the city that are less densely populated. Do not adjust this list to replace the population figure with the municipal "city limits" population of a city, or to add places not already listed here, because city populations are not what this list is about. |
