The "* = wartime, in opposition" bit is incorrectly placed. I'm not entrirely sure why we have this qualifier at all, as only a few PLP chairs are asterisked. --LukeSurl t c 16:51, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
There isn't anything in the Internal Election section that covers the leadership elections of Scotland (leader or deputy) or Wales (leader or deputy) or any articles of selection processes (ie London, Mancheser and Mersyside mayoral eletions). Should they be added? If there is no opposition to this ill add them in a month. Jonjonjohny (talk) 05:33, 26 September 2018 (UTC)
Maybe the history section should include the Zinoviev "letter"? AnonMoos (talk) 05:39, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
Currently this list does not include the three individuals who led the Labour Party on an acting basis, but did not then go on to be elected leader in their own right - namely George Brown on the death of Hugh Gaitskell in 1963, Margaret Beckett on the death of John Smith in 1994 and Harriet Harman on the resignation of Gordon Brown in 2010 and Ed Miliband in 2015. I know that they are often considered acting leaders, but I am struck by the fact that the Harriet Harman article states in relation to her taking over on Brown's resignation that "Although she was informally described in the media as 'Acting' Leader, she was fully Leader by the terms of the party's constitution, albeit on a temporary basis, as was the case with Margaret Beckett in 1994". Indeed I have seen elsewhere that ion the event of their being no Labour Party leader the deputy becomes leader automatically until a new ballot can be held. Thus, I wonder if the template needs to be modified to include them as leaders, possibly with something to indicate it was on a pro tem basis? Dunarc (talk) 18:55, 17 July 2019 (UTC)
Would it be worth adding a section for historic breakaway parties like the SDP, the National Labour Party, the National Democratic and Labour Party and the short lived Democratic Party? The Lib Dem template has a similar section. Dunarc (talk) 21:51, 19 January 2020 (UTC)
I have added the leaders of the EPLP to the template. PoliceSheep99 (talk) 02:48, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
