Medications

When influenza outbreaks occur, medications such as amantadine or rimantadine may be effective; however they are associated with adverse effects.[1] Zanamivir or oseltamivir treatment decreases the chance that those exposed will develop symptoms; however, it is recommended that potential side effects are taken into account before prescribing to people.[2]

It is uncertain whether exercise improves hand function or pain in the short term. It probably slightly improves function but has little or no difference on pain in the medium and long term.[1]
