The fifth season of the American post-apocalyptic science fiction drama television series The 100, developed by Jason Rothenberg, is loosely based on the 2013 book of the same name, the first in a series by Kass Morgan.
The season was ordered in March 10, 2017, and filming began that August 14, 2017, and concluded on January 27, 2018. Eliza Taylor stars as Clarke Griffin, with principal cast members Paige Turco, Bob Morley, Marie Avgeropoulos, Lindsey Morgan, Christopher Larkin, Richard Harmon, Isaiah Washington also returning from previous seasons, and the promotion to the main cast of Tasya Teles.
The fifth season began airing on April 24, 2018, and is set to run for 13 episodes on The CW.

On March 10, 2017, The CW renewed the series for a fifth season. Filming began that August 14, 2017, and concluded on January 27, 2018.[6][7][8]
On May 10, 2017 it was announced that Isaiah Washington would not return as part of the main cast of the series for the fifth season, without leaving out the possibility of appearing as a guest star in an episode.[9] On May 26, it was announced that Tasya Teles was promoted to the main cast of the series.[10]
