Library Education Development (UBC Okanagan)

The UBC Okanagan Library is located in Kelowna, within the university campus. The library is a nexus of scholarly engagement for students, faculty, staff and visitors at the UBC Okanagan campus. The mission of library is to create an inclusive culture where all members of the UBCO community and beyond feel welcome to pursue their greatest potential through the use of our spaces, collections, and services. History

The UBC Okanagan library was established in 1989, and have been expanded in 2014 when students passed a referendum to partner with UBC to fund an expansion of the library. [2]

Expansion

Through a joint federal-provincial and university investments, 40 million was funded for the UBC Okanagan campus infrastructure. Most of the funding, $35 million, including a major investment by students, went towards the Teaching and Learning Centre. [3]

Service

Course reserves Instructors can make learning materials available to students through the Course Reserves service. They may include electronic articles, books, DVDs, and even websites.
Service desk Service Desk is located on the first floor of the Library and is a central point of contact and scholarly support for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
Borrowing UBC students, staff, and faculty have access to over 7 million items, including physical and digital collections, films, journals, and sound recordings.
Technology The UBC Okanagan provides technology support, resources, and assistive technologies for students, faculty, staff and visitors on the UBC Okanagan campus.
