I am interested in Ships Automation Systsems and Dynamic Postioning in particular. I wanted to add a lot of detail to the Wikepedia entry for DP and also to promote the idea of adding further pages explaining about DP 2.5.
The reason for this is that there is a need for an understanding of this concept. A well designed class 2.5 DP system will tolerate many types of system failures and in many ways could be superior to a class 3 system.
The idea is to develope a definition of what such a system should consist of.
