Concussive convulsions occur within seconds of an impact.[3] They are thought to result from temporary loss of brain function rather than from structural damage to the brain and are usually associated with a good outcome.[4]
Concussive convulsions occur in one in about seventy concussions.[2]
Concussive convulsions have a similar presentation to concussive syncope.[1]
Prognosis is usually good.[4] Concussive convulsions do not need to be treated.[1]
