The term "belief in global warming" can mean:

  1. belief that some amount of global warming has occurred during a specific part of the Modern Warming Period
    • such as from 1850 to present
    • or from 1950 to present
  2. belief that such warming has occurred and that a significant amount was caused by human activity
  3. belief that more than half was caused by human activity

It is not always clear what a statement means when it uses this phrase in reference to an individual or class of individuals. Ambiguity can arise when two different statements use different meanings.
