Erika Epperson was an artist, living in an apartment in Hyannis, Massachusetts with her boyfriend, Justin Ward. Mr. Ward had been seen brandishing a handgun earlier in the day, asking: "Do you trust me?"
Ms. Eperson survived for three weeks after being shot, but was in a coma for the remainder of her life.
