Ilja Aleksandrovičius Aksionovas (Rus. Илья Александрович Аксёнов) (born June 10, 1996) is a Lithuanian singer, opera singer (former descant) and winner of many music and talent competitions. He studies classical vocal at the Vilnius Academy of Arts.

Biography

[edit]

Aksianovas was born in Visaginas, Lithuania. He is the son of Natalija and Alexander Aksionovas and has two younger siblings, Polina aged 17 and Ulianos (b. 2013). He started singing at the age of 3, when a kindergarten teacher recognized his talent. From the age of 7, he attended the C. Sasnausko muzikos mokykla, a music school in Visiginas (music teacher and principal Vita Pimpienė). From the age of 10 he took piano lessons and participated in sport dancing.

In 2010 he moved, together with his mother and sister, from his hometown of Visaginas to Vilnius, where he joined the National M.K.Čiurlionis School of Art, while studying singing with opera soloist, professor V. Noreiką at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA).

During childhood and adolescence Aksionov’s voice fell in the treble range. In 2008 he was selected from a group of one thousand candidates to play the roll of the little prince in Rachel Portman's opera in two acts "The Little Prince". In a record short period of time (one month) he had to prepare the music (score of 375 pages) and dialogue. On January 27, 2009 he made his stage debut at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. He played this roll from 2009 to 2011.

Most famously, in September 2010, he performed the song "You Raise Me Up" on the LNK talent contest “2 Minutes of Fame". In the first show (for which he later became a laureate), the Commissioner of Entertainment, veteran Arunas Valinskas named him as "One of the greatest wonders during my 25 years in show business". Shortly after this accolade he was invited to participate in the LNK song contest "Lithuanian Song", in which all 4 performed songs ("Bonfire light", "Mother", "It took the boys with MERŪNAS and" and we - children with MERŪNAS) got into the semi-finals and with both solo songs ( "Mother" and "Bonfire light") are subject to the competition finals. Sitting finale of the song "Bonfire Light" won 2nd place. He was then invited to participate in ice skating Drobiazko M. and P. Vanagas show "Burning Ice".
