Hello

I started this, my first Wikipedia account ever, on Jan. 3, 2015 to ask about an editing issue fans were having with the GOT7 Wikipedia page. After getting some new knowledge and advice from editors on the page I came to understand why it's filmography was being removed. I also learned that it was possible to create a new page, but that such an endeavor would not be done by those who had removed it. I decided that since I had already learned both where to ask a question on an article (which is, in my opinion, the hardest step in learning to edit Wikipedia) I figured making a new page was within my abilities if I simply tired. Most of the page building went smoothly, but it was frustrating every time I encountered a new standard my article had to adhere to. But I was VERY determined, and each time I was told my page was no good I went back and worked on it. Eventually my page was approved for creation:

I know that I didn't actually need to have it approved, but as it is the first article that I ever built in my sandbox, I wanted to make sure it was done right.

During the process of creating my page I learned a lot of things about Wikipedia. One of them being how there are lots of issues with many of the Kpop Wikipedia articles as they are badly maintained and often fall victim to unchecked vandalism. That made it hard for me to find good models for my creating own page. It also showed me that there needs to be more people willing to reign in these problems with the Kpop articles or they will always be sub-standard. So I do the best I can to fairly enforce page standards on Kpop articles in hopes that when future fans come to make pages they won't find one of the bad examples and use that as their guide.

If you are here to talk to me: Here are 2 fast answers for the most common reasons people seek me out to talk. (You can still talk to me about either topic, or anything else that is on your mind, this is simply to to save a few people some time.) Anyways, if you are here you're probably a k-pop fan, and want to know something about how Wikipedia works, or you want to know why an artist can't have "such and such" page.

1. How Wikipedia works is an endless learning process with limited rewards for most. It in general is a very dull place run by a bunch of mostly older white men, and that's not me being rude, that's something the site is aware of and is even trying to correct. So how old and stuffy can these editors be? Let's just say I once saw a senior editor use the word "garish" to describe a discography info-box that had color coding. Within a week other editors voted and made it a rule, so now all discography info boxes have only one color. Wikipedia is a kind of tedious hell that is not for everyone and while I actually like contributing here I don't suggest that most fans become editors. The reason I'm here is that I enjoy making some of the k-pop pages better, and less likely to be deleted. As for the rest of Wikipedia, I have little interest in it but I try to adhere to all it's rules. And there are oh so many rules.
2. If you're here because a page you care about is (or will soon be) deleted then you should know that the only person who can change that is you. There simply is no one here willing to spend the time needed to build whatever page it is, properly. Building a page that can withstand editor scrutiny and not get deleted is much harder than building a cruddy page. Anyone can build a bad page, but those pages can get deleted, and once that happens it becomes harder to have the next page stay up. There are only a few active kpop editors and they don't spend their time on groups they don't know/care anything about. If you really want the page back, and you're sure that the article could be written in a way that would meet the wikipedia criteria, then you're going to have to do it yourself.
