I am a trainee sociologist at one of the Oxbridge universities, UK. Previously I spent six years working with adults and children who have been through torture and trafficking and those formerly imprisoned within the non-consensual/child sex industry. I trained/worked as a prescribing drugs worker and sexual health worker for four years. I also trained as technical support within the music industry and still get invited out on tour on occasion. I am descended from philippino circus folk and sea travellers. I have numerous medical conditions and am sibling to a severely disabled person. I spend way too much time online.

My main academic interests include:

• Power
• Medical sociology and the sociology of knowledge/science
• Human-created atrocities (genocide, torture, enslavement), and how they come to be permitted within societies and psyches
• Social theory and research on esoteric niche interests that bore everyone else to tears, especially when I start talking about them at parties.
• More broadly I am interested in almost all aspects of social life, sociology and social theory

My interests outside of academia include:

• Ecology and radical environmentalism
• Broad interests in discrimination, prejudice and their outcomes (Disablism, Sexism, Racism, Speciesism, Class, Anthropocentrism)
• Effective methods of activism and social change
• Lively Debate
