Information

COI Request Tool is a userscript which allows users to reply, close or remove conflict of interest edit requests. This will only work on conflict of interest edit requests. It is based on the Edit Request Tool script.

How to use

Add the following to your common.js page:

Answering edit requests

On each COI request box there will be a respond button with a blue pencil icon. When clicked these will open the response menu of the tool.

There are three main sections to the response box: "Quick options", "Custom response" and "Preview".

Quick options

When any Quick option buttons are clicked, this will make the specific change and ignore any changes made in the Custom response section (Including the watchlist selection).

The following are the 6 quick option buttons:

• Remove: This will appear as a red trash icon and will remove the enitre section
• Close / Reopen: This will appear as a flag/unflag icon and will open or close the edit request
• Done: This will mark the request as answered and add the ((ECOI|d)) response
• Go ahead: This will mark the request as "go ahead" and add the ((ECOI|g)) response
• Promotional: This will mark the request as declined and add the ((ECOI|mpro)) response
• Needs reliable sources: This will mark the request as declined and add the ((ECOI|rs)) response

Custom response

The Custom response requires an option to be selected from the reply dropdown and additional text can be added. To make the edit, click the submit button.

Reply dropdown

This dropdown menu has every template response created for COI requests (((ECOI))), to add an additional message onto the end of the template, use the text input box. To add the reply, click the Submit button.

Text input box

This requires the reply option dropdown to be used!

To add additional text just type into the input box. A signature will automatically be added to the end of the text, and any duplicate signatures will be removed.

Preview

There is a preview box which will show the output of the request when adding a template response. This will be updated with each character as a custom response is applied and when a reply is submitted then the preview will show the output, even if a quick response is used.

Problems

• It will only be able to reply to the top edit request (If there is more than 1 in a section) - This does not apply when seperated by headers (h3, h4...).
• The sticky header with vector 2022 may somtimes interfere with the dropdown menu of reply options. This has been reported (T318185).

Edit request tool

Protected edit requests can not be closed by this script.
