As fellow art forms the influences between art and music are vast. This pages covers the influences of art in music.

Throughout history the different art forms influenced each other. Overall historians and other researcher often found coherent movements in corresponding art forms. Historically (visual) art and music shared common goals of beauty and craftsmanship. In the twentieth century when art expanded in different directions, also music found new goals and new means of expression.
