I sincerely apologise for the message i left regarding you at :@MYS77:'s page. Not correct on two accounts, not being in English when mentioning another user and the language used there. Regarding that, two notes: 1 - he re-reverted because he wanted, i did not force him to engage in any action; 2 - must i remind you how many times you called me a vandal, when i'm the exact opposite of that (i may be one of the poorest editors from an "English user at the English WP"'s standpoint, but a vandal?)? All in all, my actions were not all that they could have been at that point in time, but really no need for me to read about the Dunning–Kruger effect, never thought of me as one who knows more than anyone about anything!
Ah, these parting words: from now on, no need to worry about my incompetence (regarding you and possibly a few others, never heard of more than one, won't name him to avoid more antagonism, some people accuse me of not being able to handle criticism then do exactly the same, never acknowledging for any errors whatsoever) ruining articles at WP and my "long term systematic effort to undermine the [site's] integrity" (your words not mine; i was blocked once in 14 years, yes, for incivility, totally deserved), i am retired since last week. With editors such as yourself, the project is in safe hands.
Goodbye (and again apologies for the tone of the message in MYS77's page) --Quite A Character (talk) 04:13, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
OK, tried to apologise for my actions (message about you in another language) and reach out, again you were having none of that. Maybe "f*** off troll" you understand? Goodbye, continue the "good" work. --Quite A Character (talk) 20:53, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Request reason:
a two year block of a single IP address obviously violates the blocking policy. Whoever this block was targeted at is long gone.
Decline reason:
No policy is violated here, as far as I can see. It's only indefinite blocks that are frowned upon. Yamla (talk) 11:42, 8 May 2022 (UTC)

Request reason:
Actually all sorts of policies are being violated. This is a dynamically assigned IP so it's almost impossible for it to affect whichever one person it was targeted at. A two year block of a dynamically assigned IP is crazy. It's not going to prevent anything. It is an attempt to be punitive that can't even work. 185.14.215.74 (talk) 13:26, 16 May 2022 (UTC)
Decline reason:
Blocks are preventative, not punitive. We know that there is no perfect way to keep certain users off Wikipedia, but that is not a reason to not try, just as no law by a government is 100% effective. . Either you are innocent and may request an account at WP:ACC, or you aren't and will go on doing what you are doing. Either way, there is nothing more to do here. 331dot (talk) 13:35, 16 May 2022 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
