Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: You are using the same name as a real person (Lisa Sparxxx). This may cause some confusion if you are not the person for which we have an article.. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

You have several options freely available to you:

Thank you.

This is the specific part of the Username policy that concerns me: You should not register under any name that would lead others to assume your account is associated with any person other than yourself. If you share the same name as a well known person, or you are a well known person, and you wish to edit under your own name, then your userpage should make it clear if you actually are the well known person or not. Usernames that appear to violate this policy to the extent of being problematic are likely to be blocked, as a precaution, until it can be confirmed that the user in question is using their real name.

If you have been blocked for using your real name, please don't take offense; this procedure is necessary to prevent impersonation. You are welcome to use your real name, but in some cases, you will need to prove you are who you say you are. You can do this by sending an e-mail to info-en@wikimedia.org; be aware that the OTRS system that handles e-mail is operated entirely by volunteers, and an immediate reply may not be possible.

Thanks again, Dismas|(talk) 06:55, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I am indeed Lisa Sparxxx of LisaSparxxx.com this is why I have chosen my own name for me to use.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me at [redacted] or by calling me at [redacted] that number does ring to my cell phone and is toll free.

Best Regards, Lisa Sparxxx - —Preceding unsigned comment added by Lisa sparxxx (talkcontribs) 18:06, November 3, 2008

Thank you for your understanding in this issue. It's not all the time that people understand that we can't just take it for granted that if someone creates an account that is the same as their real name, that the account is legitimate. I've had occasion to work with other people who have articles here and their reactions to what is in the article (or not in the article) can vary greatly.
I've removed your contact information from view, although it is still available in the history of this page. This is to keep your personal cell phone number out of view of every person that comes by this page.
If you have any questions about the way things work around here or anything else, I'll be glad to do my best in answering them. Just leave a note on my talk page so that I'll be notified of any new messages. And finally, you can sign your posts by using four tildes, like this ~~~~. That will automatically add your user name and timestamp your signature. Thanks, Dismas|(talk) 01:50, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Lisa, I'm one of the admins here. Dismas left me a message on my own talk page advising me of your creating an account. He's quite right about folks impersonating real people when editing Wikipedia so we routinely challenge what look like "real names". What you might want to do is to send an email to info-en@wikimedia.org advising them that you are the real Lisa Sparxxx and that you wish to use that name here. Note that you are under no obligation to use your real name as your Wikipedia identity; I know of at least one of your fellow porn stars who has an account here under a nickname.
Again, welcome to Wikipedia; if you have any questions, let Dismas or myself know and we'll be more than happy to help out. Tabercil (talk) 03:08, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've taken the liberty to more thoroughly redact the phone number from the article. Tabercil (talk) 03:38, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hello thanks for the info. If it would be easier can we just change the name to 2l8iwin? :)

Lisa sparxxx (talk) 20:27, 4 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Considering that you've been confirmed by OTRS as being the real Lisa Sparxxx, do you still want to go about making the change? I mean, there are pros to editing under your own name and cons; you are not required to adopt a nickname to edit Wikipedia. We have a number of users who already edit using their own names as the ID here, starting with the big kahuna himself, User:Jimbo Wales. Tabercil (talk) 02:59, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lisa sparxxx is the real person[edit]

I just received a confirmation email through our OTRS system originating from the website ( http://lisasparxxx.com ). This username is the real person. For other WP:OTRS volunteers, please see "PermissionOTRS|id=2008110410030942" Thanks. —— nixeagle 02:51, 5 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

July 27, 2011 I have recently changed the spelling of my name from Lisa Sparxxx to Lisa Sparks, for reasons of many websites not allowing xxx in a name. Making my name blocked for usage. Any comments ore questions you may email me at lisa@lisasparxxx.com or lisa@lisasparks.com I do indeed own both of my domain names. Thanks Lisa Sparks

December 2010[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, talk pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Lisa Sparxxx, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Tabercil (talk) 18:08, 5 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lisa Sparks[edit]

If you have concerns regarding article content you should bring those concerns to the article talk page. You would also find it helpful to read and understand Wikipedia:Conflicts of interest. Tiderolls 01:46, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I did bring this up in the talk page. Stop changing my profile. I am Lisa Sparks formally spelled Lisa Sparxxx this can be confirmed on my website LisaSparxxx.com as well as LisaSparks.com I can be reached at lisa@lisasparxxx.com or lisa@lisasparks.com This information is verified!!

This article is not your profile. As the subject of the article you should not edit the article. There are processes to obtain your goal. Tiderolls 01:52, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
To change the article name you will have to supply a reliable source for the content. You may list the source, or sources on the article's talk page. I will help in any way I can. Regards Tiderolls 01:56, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've also asked for help regarding this issue here. You can offer input there if you wish. Regards Tiderolls 02:01, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Pardon the interruption. Tiderolls 03:48, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please be careful[edit]

Please don't do a search and replace without checking and double checking. With this edit, you changed the interlanguage links (the links to versions of Wikipedia in other languages) to "Sparks". But there are no articles by those titles in those languages. The subject is still listed as "Sparxxx" in those languages.

Also, there is no category for "Western Kentucky University student". The proper title is Western Kentucky University alumni.

Thanks, Dismas|(talk) 03:26, 31 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

NOT the real Lisa Sparks[edit]

I don't know who you are, but you are most likely not the real Lisa Sparks. You made a number of edits on the Lisa Sparks wikipedia page years ago, claiming that "you" (Sparks) had never had sex with 919 men at an event, even though it had been well documented and reported by news sources. Years later, this is something that Lisa Sparks it still famous for. Something that she talks about in interviews, something that is on her websites, etc. Yet you, user 2l8iwin, denied that Sparks had ever done this. It was only after a number of people provided many sources, incl. Lisa Sparks talking about it herself a number of times, that you stopped trying to delete the information off of the Lisa Sparks wikipedia page. Therefore, any logical and sane person could only conclude that you are some sort of impostor. A faker and a liar, pretending to be Sparks. Username6666 (talk) 06:18, 17 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
