Nomination of Woodridge High School Football for deletion[edit]

Generally, high school football teams aren't notable since only a few receive regular coverage outside their immediate areas. While Woodridge has had some success recently, none of that success has been extraordinary or garnered any kind of expanded coverage outside the routine coverage high school football teams get. While I definitley suggest expanding the Woodridge High School article to include some more details about the football team (and the overall athletic department), full detailed histories aren't appropriate for articles on the school itself. @BitBytes: I'm sorry to inform you, but the majority of people who voted decided to delete your article from Wikipedia. Because you obviously spend dozens of hours writing and researching for the article, a subpage has been created (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:BitBytes/Woodridge_football) to save all the information you gathered. Inline external links[edit]

Hey there! Just a quick note, but be careful to avoid adding external links to inline text like you did at Portage Trail Conference. While JoeEitel.com is interesting and has some helpful info, it doesn't actually support the claim that a team won a championship since it only shows the results of their schedule. Major college and professional teams do have Wikipedia articles highlighting a team's specific season, but high school seasons generally aren't notable on their own. In terms of reliable sources, JoeEitel.com would be a decent supporting source if it's supporting mention of a team's success over a period of time or a playoff appearance, but unless there are conference standings, then it doesn't support the statement so shouldn't be used inline or as a reference. If it is used as a source, it would need to be placed inside the <ref> and </ref> brackets and then within the correct citation template.
