A few notes[edit]

Hello DavidTSides. I noticed your usurpation request at WP:CHU/U, and I wanted to let you know about a couple of things.

About the usurpation itself, it will be reviewed by a bureaucrat, who will decide on it. In this particular case, it is normal to deny requests that come from editors with very few contributions, in an attempt to ensure that usurpations are put to good use. If that is the case, you should wait until you've become more established before placing the request again.

Now, there is a difference between an article (such as David Bowie) and a userpage (such as User:DavidTSides or User:Frankie), so even if you had the username "David Sides" your userpage would be prefixed with "User:". Also, userpages should not be like articles, they are meant for you to provide some information about yourself as a Wikipedia editor. No one owns an article in Wikipedia, so anyone is free to create an article at David Sides, and anyone would be free to edit it afterwards. Since you stated that that is actually your intention, let me point out that writing an article about yourself is strongly discouraged (see also WP:COI), and also every article is expected to comply with the policies of verifiability, neutral point of view, and no original research, as well as to follow the various notability guidelines. I'd be glad to help you work on the article if you want; in any case, feel free to ask if you have any doubt — frankie (talk) 22:22, 18 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
