December 2012[edit]

Hello, KAIGENmusic. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Kaigen, you may need to consider our guidance on conflicts of interest.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. AllyD (talk) 12:26, 22 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you will probably not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text ((unblock|Your reason here)) below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

My apologies. Now I understand what I did was promotion/publicity, which is a violation of WP:NOTPROMOTION. I promise I will never do it again. In addition, because of my username "KAIGENmusic" being WP:SPAMNAME, I want to change my username to K-G-N. If unblocked, I am willing to contribute to Wikipedia by editing other articles from WP:NPOV based on WP:RELIABLESOURCES.

Speedy deletion nomination of Kaigen[edit]

Hello KAIGENmusic,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Kaigen for deletion, because it seems to be an article that was created in violation of a block or ban.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks, Bensci54 (talk) 01:41, 4 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor declined it. KAIGENmusic (talk) 11:22, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My apologies. Now I understand what I did was promotion/publicity, which is a violation of WP:NOTPROMOTION. I promise I will never do it again. In addition, because of my username "KAIGENmusic" being WP:SPAMNAME, I want to change my username to "KGN", which does not unambiguously consist of a name of a company, group, institution or product. If unblocked, I am willing to contribute to Wikipedia by editing other articles from WP:NPOV based on WP:RELIABLESOURCES.

Decline reason:

Now you're no longer being serious. If K-G-N was declined as a username, so is KGN. Besides, it is unambigously appears related to the series of Radio stations that start with KGN, or the one that refers to themself as KGN in their broadcasts - even though I'm pretty sure you are not related (✉→BWilkins←✎) 16:39, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'll leave this for another admin to review, but for my money - if K-G-N was too close, KGN is just as close. Please consider picking something unrelated. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 16:35, 9 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Adding some information about Villain to Shuichi Yoshida with reliable sources such as The Guardian, NPR and Metro. KAIGENmusic (talk) 11:22, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Example:

Yoshida's seventh novel, Villain, was translated into English by Philip Gabriel in 2010.[1]

Request reason:

Now I understand what I did was promotion/publicity, which is a violation of the "What Wikipedia is not" policy. I promise I will never do it again. In addition, because of my username "KAIGENmusic" being a promotional name, I want to change my username to Eyes open. If unblocked, I will happily contribute to Wikipedia by editing other articles, not music but literature, from neutral point of view based on reliable sources.

Decline reason:

After dozens of reviews, it's quite clear that there is not sufficient WP:CONSENSUS to unblock at this time - and nobody is willing to go out on a limb. This is likely because you have not provided enough of a convincing argument as per WP:GAB. I for one am not convinced that you will not WP:SPAM the project further, and am not convinced that you have not been editing with another account/anonymously. Requested username:

Eye Open (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log)

Request reason:

I am the original creator of the Kaigen article. Now I understand what I did was promotion/publicity, which is a violation of the "What Wikipedia is not" policy. I've read WP:SPAM, and I have to admit that the article should be speedily deleted by tagging with db-spam. I promise I will never edit Kaigen-related articles again. In addition, because of my username "KAIGENmusic" being a promotional name, I want to change my username to Eyes Open. If unblocked, I will happily contribute to Wikipedia by editing other articles, not music but literature (e.g. Shuichi Yoshida), from neutral point of view based on reliable sources. Kaigen is not related to literature at all, which means there is no way to spam the project as long as just editing those literature-related articles. Speaking of editing with another account/anonymously, I'm not 666media. I don't want to use such unlucky number for my username, and, unlike my editing behaviour, his/her changes are not supported by reliable sources. KAIGENmusic (talk) 00:16, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Accept reason:

Allowing username change to requested username. Please put this request in at Wikipedia:Changing username as soon as possible to avoid re-blocking. Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 21:22, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As you have agreed not to edit Kaigen related articles and have provided a feasible new username I have unblocked your account in order to allow you to request a rename.--Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 21:23, 7 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Other editing account?[edit]

Can you please confirm whether you have any link with User:666media, a new account which began editing the Kaigen article? Please read WP:SOCK for the policy on use of multiple accounts. I am also leaving a similar message on User talk:666media. AllyD (talk) 07:05, 27 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, I don't have any link with 666media. KAIGENmusic (talk) 11:04, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
