Welcome![edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. The following links will help you begin editing on Wikipedia:

Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:

The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello JonesJaguar! Your additions to Pond slider have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. DanCherek (talk) 20:37, 5 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add ((NoACEMM)) to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 01:04, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problem icon Your edit to Corallus hortulana has been removed in whole or in part, as it appears to have added copyrighted material to Wikipedia without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. If you are the copyright holder, please read Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for more information on uploading your material to Wikipedia. For legal reasons, Wikipedia cannot accept copyrighted material, including text or images from print publications or from other websites, without an appropriate and verifiable license. You may use external websites or publications as a source of information, but not as a source of content, such as sentences or images—you must write using your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and persistent violators of our copyright policy will be blocked from editing. See Wikipedia:Copying text from other sources for more information. This is your final warning. Further violation of Wikipedia's copyright policy will result in you being blocked from editing.Diannaa (talk) 16:11, 4 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain namespaces ((Article) and Draft) for copyright violations.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: ((unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~)).  Moneytrees🎄Talk/CCI guide 18:19, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

After a final warning for copyright violations, you pasted content from https://animaldiversity.org/accounts/Falco_sparverius/ into American kestrel and content from https://animaldiversity.org/accounts/Rhynchonycteris_naso/ into Proboscis bat, citing them as sources each time. Those pages are under a CC BY-NC-SA 3.0 license; if something is labeled as NC, or non-commercial, it cannot be copied into Wikipedia- we have a commercial license that permits reuse, and NC does not. If you want to be unblocked, you must provide a better understnading of copyright and commit to not copying from sources in the future. Moneytrees🎄Talk/CCI guide 18:39, 17 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for sockpuppetry[edit]

Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/JonesJaguar. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: ((unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~)).  Girth Summit (blether) 16:29, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - look, above you were told that your account had been blocked because you were violating our copyright policies. If you'd spent a bit of time reading up on those, you could have requested an unblock, but instead you created a new account and carried on doing the same thing - that's not acceptable. If you want to edit our articles, you are going to have to read up on policy: WP:COPYVIO, WP:BLOCK and WP:SOCK would be good places to start. Then read WP:GAB and request unblock, explaining exactly what you did wrong and how you will do better next time. Best Girth Summit (blether) 16:33, 1 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Lissachatina fulica[edit]

Hello. Perhaps you won't be returning after all that but if so: I have merged repetitions of the reference you added from the University of the West Indies with your sock. You might do that yourself in future. Invasive Spices (talk) 1 January 2022 (UTC)
