Please withdraw it and open a new RFD I meant that you should open a new RFD if you wanted to have it deleted. I wanted it to be clear that mine was a procedural keep, lest you think that I was opposed to its deletion, and I didn't want people using my "keep" as a reason to complain at you if you'd opened a new RFD. Nyttend (talk) 19:51, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
That's not very clear; sorry. Imagine that I create a bundled nomination, someone gives a substantive "keep" (i.e. on the merits, not a procedural thing like mine) to one of them, so I withdraw it and promptly start a new RFD for that item without mentioning the "keep". I'll deserve complaints because I'm apparently trying to hide the fact that the first RFD got opposition, trying to make it look like nobody's addressed the situation. This is what I was trying to prevent. Nyttend (talk) 19:55, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

Harrias talk 12:01, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
Hello Tavix,
We’d like to invite you to participate in a study that aims to explore how WikiProject members coordinate activities of distributed group members to complete project goals. We are specifically seeking to talk to people who have been active in at least one WikiProject in their time in Wikipedia. Compensation will be provided to each participant in the form of a $10 Amazon gift card.
The purpose of this study is to better understanding the coordination practices of Wikipedians active within WikiProjects, and to explore the potential for tool-mediated coordination to improve those practices. Interviews will be semi-structured, and should last between 45-60 minutes. If you decide to participate, we will schedule an appointment for the online chat session. During the appointment you will be asked some basic questions about your experience interacting in WikiProjects, how that process has worked for you in the past and what ideas you might have to improve the future.
You must be over 18 years old, speak English, and you must currently be or have been at one time an active member of a WikiProject. The interview can be conducted over an audio chatting channel such as Skype or Google Hangouts, or via an instant messaging client. If you have questions about the research or are interested in participating, please contact Michael Gilbert at (206) 354-3741 or by email at mdg@uw.edu.

You moved John Clark (Parliamentarian) to John Clark (MP) because Parliamentarian (upper case P) does not usually mean MP it means a supporter of the Parliamentary cause in the Civil War. I have now moved the page to John Clark (Roundhead) to make that clear; If in future you wish to make a move from a dab extension of "(Parliamentarian)" to "(MP)" please use the WP:RM process. -- PBS (talk) 14:04, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Sorry, you are right about the proper nomination of Foreign relations of the Netherlands Antilles. My concern was the addition of a separate article that was not even mentioned in the nomination ([[1]]) and I didn't realise there were two N.Ant articles involved. I have now removed the Afd notice from the latter page, as it was not included in the nom description at all. Possibly best to start a separate procedure for that by the nominator... Thanks very much for acknowledging me as a contributor to this. Looking back I didn't do much, just whacked in an infobox and some references I think. I didn't even translate the references, which I usually do, but got distracted by something else: anyway if I remember it has to be done in five days so we can go back and do that later. I hope it got some DYK hits (haven't checked yet), especially from South Africans, as it can be a good spur to the article being improved. Nice job, well done, but really nothing to do with me, I just organised the information that was already there. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you believe that there is a reason to keep the redirect, you can request that administrators wait a while before deleting it. To do this, affix the template ((hangon))

I have cut-and-paste moved the discussion continued after the close WT:NOT#RfC: Should we add a footnote to WP:NOTHOWTO/WP:NOTFAQ stating that it does not apply to redirects? to WT:RFD#Does WP:NOT apply to redirects? I am now squatting on your page and name dropping hoping that all involved, User:Thryduulf, you, me, User:Godsy, User:Steel1943, User:Ivanvector, User:Lenticel and others may contribute to that discussion there. I have mentioned the names elsewhere but I don't know what notifications they may or may not get, so if I have excluded anyone, it is simply my fault of memory. I agree with you, Thryduulf did a grand job of encapsulating it, but I fiddled a bit with the wording in the fourth point, but essentially unchanged. I don't think User:WilyD had much to say on this one. Sorry to squat on your talk page but essentially just trying to tie the various discussions together. I suppose I should put it on my own. Si Trew (talk) 08:52, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
Hi. I've removed your RM/TR request because it was contested. Normally when a request there gets contested we just take it to a full RM discussion, but seeing as there was an RM about this only a few weeks ago (see Talk:Thus (company)) I thought you would prefer I not start another discussion in your name right now. Best, Jenks24 (talk) 20:11, 26 August 2015 (UTC)
I thought I'd ask your opinion on this since you provided a "strong delete" vote on the "Qantas" redirect discussions, and I agree with your rationale. After I participated in the most recent discussion, I noticed that there is a page that could be turned into a list page and be modified to be used for these "Qantas" redirects: List of Google domains. In response, I have started the following draft: Draft:List of Qantas domains. I think that the nominated redirects, plus maybe the ones deleted in the previous discussion, could be retargetted to this draft (after it is tweaked and "un-Google-ized") since it will identify all of these domain redirects, but not identifying them as an "official name" for Qantas, since they are not. I think that this will be the most information we will ever have about these domain redirects since I doubt we will ever have an article on them as standalone subjects. What do you think? (If the idea seems terrible, I may just G7 the draft.) Steel1943 (talk) 17:39, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Appreciate you taking the time to list all those bad hockey redirects at RFD. I was actually starting to compile a list myself (of the same ones you are nominating now), but closed the damned window when I got to Ottawa and lost everything. FWIW though, I don't think you need to template Dolovis for every single redirect. Probably a single notification that numerous are going in one shot would be sufficient. Same with other users you will come across who created multiple such redirects. Cheers! Resolute 00:10, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
The list a kindly botop gave me: User:Resolute/botreq. I've already just nominated the 33 links to draft articles I've found. That list did remind me of a related set, which is "non-notable brother/father/son who also plays hockey --> notable player" redirects. There's a few here I am contemplating a nomination on for the same reason as a test case, but that's a rabbit hole I'm not sure I want to go down, because a bot generated list of redirects for hockey bio articles would be a few million bytes. The term hockey on the ice or hockey on ice is another term for bandy. It should therefore not redirect to ice hockey, even if that could seem logical. So I remade the redirects again. I hope that's OK with you. Skogsvandraren (talk) 17:53, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
I think it should direct to ice hockey. In English far more people are going to search for ice hockey by typing hockey on ice than people searching for bandy would. Thus the redirect would be more useful pointing to ice hockey. Or if you want to compromise the hockey article which includes both. -DJSasso (talk) 17:33, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Hello, Tavix - I was reading the discussion on Paine Ellsworth's talk page, and, after reading your comment, I looked at your user page out of curiosity. I see you are interested in sports. I have been working for some time copyediting articles at Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests, and there are several articles about sports figures for which a request was made several weeks ago. I have very little interest in sports, so I tend to choose other articles to copyedit. One or two articles on sports figures have been there for so long that the request is about to expire and will be removed if no one accepts the assignment with the ((Working)) template. One is Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests#William Lofland Dudley and the other is Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors/Requests#Sam Hornish, Jr. If you feel you could do a copy-edit of those articles, I'm sure the requesters would be grateful. Didn't know ((R from sort name))
existed either. I do check at whatever it is that lists the Rcats and am a big fan of Rcatting as I think you are and BDD is cos I know it is kinda meta-categorisation but it does help when we discuss things to say "look, these are in this category too", it's kinda a small balance weight to me when deciding whether something should go or stay, and I think you are quite right that while tidying up you add the rcat, I tend to do the same, or say "without prejudice to the discussion" (and I mean that) if I add an rcat while it is under discussion, cos the rcat in itself shouldn't influence the discussion, but if it happens to be kept we have the rcat ready with it.
Gosh that packed the maximum number of words into the minimum amount of thought. Keep going! Si Trew (talk) 08:01, 15 October 2015 (UTC)
