Paramus Park is a shopping mall located near Route 17 in Paramus, New Jersey. It was built on 66 acres of land in 1974 by the Rouse Company. Today, Paramus Park has 110 stores. Its anchor department stores are Macy's (was A&S until mid-1990s) and Sears. The waterfalls located in the center of Paramus Park was also referenced by Dean Friedman in his song Ariel, the only top 40 song to use the word Paramus. However, these waterfalls were removed when the mall was renovated in 2001, giving the Mall a sterile look.

Nara Dreamland is a theme park near Nara City Japan which was built in 1961 as a near exact copy of Disneyland in California. It has evolved into a more conventional theme park since then, but it still retains many of its orginal plagiarized "lands" and structures such as Sleeping Beauty`s Castle, Main Street USA and Tomorrowland`s monorail train.

Goenawan Mohamad is a famous Indonesian poet and man of letters. He was born at Batang, Central Java by July 29th 1941. His early writings included "Potret Seorang Penyair Muda Sebagai Si Malin Kundang (1972)"(The Portrait of A Young Poet as Malin Kundang) and "Seks, Sastra, Kita (1980)" (Sex, Literature, Us). His more recent writings were "Pariksit dan Interlude (2001)", "Setelah Revolusi Tak Ada Lagi (2001)" (After Revolution No Longer Exist), "Kata, Waktu (2001)" (Word, Time). But above all he was famous and known well as the leader of Tempo (means 'Time') magazine, one of the most bonafide magazines in Indonesia. The magazine was forced to be closed down twice by the government during New Order era because of its vocal and criticizing voices to the autocratic and corrupt regime. Goenawan Mohamad was also famous for his brilliant short weekly articles at Tempo, "Catatan Pinggir" (translated and published in English as 'Sidelines'). This topic came up in the Alito hearings this week, and was news to most of us. If I have it straight, Alito believes that the term only refers to chain of command in executive power, but his doubters fear (with some justice, it seems to me) that it actually refers to increasing the power of the Executive branch unduly, so that the Executive branch would have more power than the other two, including such powers as the ability to override requiements of governmental agencies (e.g., EPA clean air requirements), make an end-run aroound the FISA court and surveill Americans without obtaining a warrant, etc.

Evidently, President Bush makes formal signing statements at the time of signing new Bills into law that undercut the provision of the very Bill he is signing, e.g., McCain's Bill disavowing torture by the United States. What effect do these signing statements have on the courts? Under current law, to what extent should these statements be given weight when some provision of the Law is being challenged in the Courts? Or when the President's actions are challenged? Congress writes the laws, not the President, but the President is required sign, veto, or ignore (let the Bill ride toward passage into law without his signature) every Bill. Signing statements seem to me to be a particularly weaselly way of thumbing the Presidental nose at the Congress. I think one of them, say, the torture bill, should be challenged in the courts, with the hope that the Courts are not yet so weakened by Rebublican packing from the bottom up, that the Executive branch is permitted to outweigh the other two branches.

Priorities- that’s one word that has everybody confused today. What does it mean? It can be defined as something that holds utmost importance. The question here is- utmost importance to whom? The person concerned or the people around him/her who matter?

Setting priorities is a big task and setting them right is a totally different knack. Not everybody does it well. When we have so many aspects governing our everyday lives today, it becomes a difficult task to set our priorities. The developments around you are so rapid that priorities you set today may not be of any value a week from now and then the cycle does not end there. The most saddening moment comes when you read a management book that says “planning ahead and on a long term basis fetches better results”. Since planning is directly proportional to the priorities you set, the dilemma increases. Short term? Long term? Tomorrow or day after?

Forgetting all that, setting priorities for today is also a herculean task. What is important, what is not important? What is important to you and what is important to others. What is important to others- would it affect you. If so, to what extent? So, do we set out priorities or do we let life take us in different directions and then compromise?

These questions are hard to answer and various answers come up. I wont be wrong if I say the same person would give different answers when you ask him at different times of the day. In the morning, a working person’s priority would be to get to work on time. During work, it would be to work well. Evening times would be to have a nice time with friends or family. However, don’t you think there would an overlap of the priorities? Don’t you ever think of next day’s work when you are enjoying your evening or think of the evening when you are at work? What becomes the priority then?

This was only one day we were talking about. Life is a lot more complicated and a lot of thought has to be put into deciding what is important and what is more important than what is important and also the fact that what is more important today may not be that important tomorrow has to be considered.

East Bay Cape Breton is a small town located 22kms outside of Sydney. It has a population between 500-1000 people. It is located on the Bra-Dor lake. Ski Ben Eoin is located just outside of East Bay. The Westbank Expressway is the major east-west artery on the Westbank of Jefferson Parish (County), LA and connects U.S. Highway 90 and Downtown New Orleans (a.k.a. the Central Business District). Originally built at grade back in the 1950s, the road was elevated during much of the late 1970s to late 1980s as part of a major project undertaken by the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development. The elevated expressway is architecuturally unique in the design of its support columns and beams, which aesthetically are similar to some freeways around the Los Angeles, CA area.

The Eurana was built in 1916 by the Union Iron Works (later called Bethlehem Shipbuilding, owned by Bethlehem Steel) in San Francisco, CA. The time period of construction was from January 1, 1916 to December 31, 1916. It was issued the hull number 120, and released to its new owner, The American South African Line, as a Passenger Freighter. Its weight was 6000 tons, and its displacement was 9300 tons. The length of the Eurana was 410’; Beam 56’2”; Draft 26’; Speed 10kts; Complement 70; and Armament two 4” guns (after being acquired by the US Navy).

The US Navy acquired the Eurana on September 13, 1918, commissioning it the same day, with the command going to Lieut. Comm. J. Foster, USNRF. It operated for the Navy under the name USN Eurana, with the Hull # SP 1594, as a Section Patrol Craft. From October 4, 1918 to September 14, 1919, it made 4 voyages from east coast ports to carry passengers and cargo for the Army Expeditionary Force and the Army of Occupation to LaPallice, Verdon, Bordeaux, St. Nazaire, and Brest, France. She was present in Brest on June 29, 1919 to honor President W. Wilson leaving France in the George Washington. The Eurana was decommissioned from the US Navy on October 9, 1919 at Norfolk, and returned to the Army for transfer to her owner.

The Eurana’s name was later changed to the Alamar, and was used in WWII. At Murmansk, on May 27, 1942, the Alamar was hit by several aerial bombs on her afterdeck and set afire after Stukas (dive bombers) attacked for 1 ½ hours. Flames soared high from the high test gasoline stored topside. The Alamar fell back from the other ships, out of control, nearly colliding with another injured ship. At 12:30 pm, both ships slipped beneath the water without losing any sailors. The Alamar was actually scuttled.

On July 5, 1942, the Massmar, with survivors from the Alamar, hit a mine and was sunk. This also occurred at Murmansk. 23 of the Alamar crew survived.

Bulldog T.Mk.1 is single engine low-wing monoplane of all metal stressed skin construction. It's a two-seater military aircraft which is used for pilot-training purpose with a flying time of approximately 2-3 hours and fuel capacity of 33UK Galons.
