  • Er, no it doesn't - WP:ATHLETE states that the player should have played in a fully professional league, or the "highest amateur level of a sport, usually considered to mean the Olympic Games". • Even if we consider "highest level" to simply mean the highest level within a given country (which we usually don't), at the time he played, the highest level of football in Ireland would have been the Irish League - the Leinster Cup was effectively a glorified friendly between the two highest-placed League teams who happened to be based in Leinster.
