The result was redirect to Ukraine at the 2000 Summer Olympics#Archery. Despite numerous editors claiming that winning the 2005 World Indoor Archery Championships makes this article notable, it does not. NSPORTS and GNG require significant coverage in reliable sources. There were two editors who thought the article should be deleted because it does not have that. There were three editors who thought redirecting was a viable option (two of whom suggested targeting to Ukraine at the 2000 Summer Olympics#Archery). No policy-based arguments were made against redirecting or in favor of keeping, so the clear consensus at this time is to redirect. No prejudice against an RfD for a potential retarget, as discussion of the target was limited. (non-admin closure) ––FormalDude talk 03:55, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Fails WP:GNG and the revised version of WP:NOLY, as he did not win any medals, and I could find no sources covering him other than database listings. Corresponding article on the Ukrainian Wikipedia is a different person. Devonian Wombat (talk) 04:07, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

- Comment: the Ukrainian article on Пархоменко Ігор certainly seems to be on the same person. StAnselm (talk) 04:32, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep: won gold at the 2005 World Indoor Archery Championships. StAnselm (talk) 06:00, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep per StAnselm. Also a European champion. I don't speak/read Ukrainian, but worst case redirect to Ukraine at the 2000 Summer Olympics#Archery per WP:ATD, WP:PRESERVE, WP:R#KEEP#1 and WP:CHEAP. Lugnuts Fire Walk with Me 08:01, 20 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep: I have added a little. Strange - almost nothing about his military club and archery federation.Xx236 (talk) 11:33, 21 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete I do not see any guideline that says winning any archery unique competition is enough to show notability. I do not believe we have enough sourcing here to show notability, and since he is name dropped on at least 2 pages there is no reasonable redirect target.John Pack Lambert (talk) 19:28, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

- Weak keep:Participated in the 2000 Summer Olympics. Winner of the 2005 World Indoor Archery Championships. I'm leaning towards keep. Akevsharma (talk) 09:47, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- @Akevsharma, if you aren't aware, our notability guidelines now explicitly require SIGCOV in independent RS for all athletes regardless of achievement level. JoelleJay (talk) 22:39, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- @JoelleJay. Agreed. But as per WP:NATH (not the guideline applicable in this case), significant coverage is likely to exist for athletes who compete in the field of athletics if they meet any of the criteria listed there. Here we are talking about a gold winner at a world championship. So SIGCOV is likely to exist. Akevsharma (talk) 03:07, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- @Akevsharma, the NSPORT guideline explicitly requires at least one source of SIGCOV be present within the article even when notability isn't challenged. When notability is in dispute it is now expected that editors demonstrate GNG (multiple IRS with SIGCOV) or provide extremely strong evidence that particular offline/inaccessible sources contain SIGCOV. The WP:NSPORTS2022 referendum demoted all athlete subguidelines from "presumed notable" to "SIGCOV is likely to exist" specifically to prevent AfD keep arguments based on meeting a subcriterion/having a sports achievement. Also, because archery does not have its own subguideline, it defaults to SPORTCRIT/GNG, which means medaling at any level does not actually suggest SIGCOV exists. Hope this helps! - Not going to make further arguments. Leaving this to my fellow colleagues. Akevsharma (talk) 06:18, 5 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Winning gold at a world championship organized by the international federation should be enough. --- Løken (talk) 16:18, 3 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Delete. Keep !votes based on non-existent, or worse, deprecated guidelines should be ignored. There is no policy or guideline that confers automatic or even presumed notability to any athlete; in fact, NSPORT now requires all athlete articles, even those that aren't challenged on notability grounds, have at least one IRS containing SIGCOV to even exist in mainspace. No one has coughed up this SIGCOV, therefore both NSPORT and GNG are failed. JoelleJay (talk) 22:38, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to 2005 World Indoor Archery Championships. Viable AtD since he was the winner. Star Mississippi 14:10, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Redirect to Ukraine at the 2000 Summer Olympics#Archery. Likely to be notable but unfortunately it isn't proven by the current sources. Hopefully suitable sources can be found, then I will change my !vote. MrsSnoozyTurtle 23:27, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
- Keep Won gold at a world championship organized by the international federation, and is an Olympian. That is enough. Lightburst (talk) 03:34, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
