Appears to be nothing more than another glorified blogger. The editor that wrote the article appears to be working his way through anyone with a remote connection to Columbia and while WP:ATHLETE allows for anyone that has participated in a sport at a pro or Olympic level, I don't think this means that blog journalists that write about that level are automatically notable enough.
