A footballer who seems to have made more appearances than the record-holder listed at Football_records_in_England#Appearances, yet there are no relevant search engine results about him, and the single Nexis news result is about a player on an under-14s team in 2007. By contrast, a search for a contemporary, Jimmy Montgomery, gives 225 results in UK publications. There is an impressive amount of detail in this article, but none of the references back it up - they don't seem to mention the subject at all. I'm willing to be proven wrong on this one, but I haven't been able to find any trace of this person, which is unusual even if the most notable period of his life was before the Internet age.
