Keep. Passes bio specifically this section in particular, which shows he's been awarded more than one award. Hes also been on tv more than once.   - Comment The Walt Disney Corporation's Outstanding National Foreign Language Teacher of the Year Award, the National Educator Award and the Golden Apple Award are not notable awards.       - Response TravellingCari, if you look at my edits, you will find that I've created the biographies of sociologists, economists, and other academics. I know whether an academic is notable or not. My personal likes and dislikes has nothing to with my contributions. We don't have an article on the National Educator Award.         Comment and Wikipedia has an article on all things notable? If it did, we'd all be bored because there would be nothing left to do. The NEA award is a prestigious award. The family that endowed it is well-regarded in the field of education and while results are dirtied by simple listings of awardees, thee award is highly regarded. I have a good sense of when academics are notable and I think this is one of them, just as you apparently do for your other contributions. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Also, a book search picked up a couple of his other citations and publications. In my opinion the National Educator's Award helps prove notability per WP:ACADEMIC but I also don't think his notability relies on same. actually, the relevant article is Golden Apple Award (education), from which it appeals that this is a (rather obviously) generic terms, and a number of awards have this title in various states, without any apparent connection. Also, on the matter of which award it is, I came to the conclusion that it was the same award because of the subject matter of the article itself. Keep. The AP of New Mexico award for his radio show sounds substantial, and a quick Google search suggests to me that Torres is an important person and that his article will be filled out if given a chance (the article was nominated for deletion one minute after its creation). I also suggest that the nominator read this comment by Jimbo about assuming that articles were written by their subjects. --Allen (talk) 05:11, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Note I have re-written the article and included some of the sourcing I found. Keep - There are multiple third-party sources concerning this guy.
