The result was delete. Some possible sources were mentioned during the debate but apparently failed to sway any of the "delete" !votes. • Delete: Prove it (if "sourcable"): Fails all relevant notability guidelines. Cross-sea searches might be location biased but there are some mentions of Essential Mix, that already has an article, "The 15 Best", "Mix Of The Day", Essential Mix Podcast, "13 bass-heavy BBC Radio 1 Essential Mixes...", but not one reliable, independent source to validate such a large unsourced article. That Wikipedia is not a TV guide also goes for not being a program or radio guide. Even if there was a source It is an indiscriminate listing. I cannot find information to support keeping an otherwise non-notable article because it can't be merged.   Keep (for now) Essential Mix has a cultural significance and reference to a variety of artists within the electronic music genre. BBC Radio 1 had never publicly kept an open database or archives of the specific show which lead to fan based sources that might not be reliable (MixesDB etc) Official BBC twitter account used a Wikipedia page as a source of information back in 2018 [3]Which is an issue of synthesis. 24.212.204.133 (talk) 20:08, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  To say Wikipedia isn't a TV guide, there are a vast number of shows that have 'List of [show] episodes' and provide similar information, though TV has ratings and further credits.   According to WP:NLIST guidelines, if a reliable group of independent sources consider the list notable then it can be accepted as a stand alone list, right? For example the independent sources would be the musicians/(critics) themselves that had been featured on the show would voice their support and why the radio show is valuable which leads to the list being accepted. • Keep there are plenty more sources available besides the BBC site, for example Resident Advisor, mixmag, DJMag, I am sure the sourcing on this could be improved. I disagree that this is indiscriminate, appearing on the essential mix is the kind of "featured subject of a substantial broadcast segment" meant by WP:MUSIC criterion 12, so the artists on this list should all be notable, even though many currently don't have articles. – filelakeshoe (t / c) 🐱 15:21, 25 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Keep re-adding my comment below the relisting.

There are a vast number of shows that have 'List of [show] episodes' and provide similar information, I don't see how this is any different. There's TV episode lists that have more info like rating/prod code/summaries but looking further there's "List of Radiolab episodes" that seems very much the same.

If it's strictly the lack of source. Some examples have been provided above, and probably since the creation of this page each edit could put BBC Radio 1's page as the source as new ones are added, the issue is BBC just does not preserve it past a month. But that's a fair amount of time for others to review and confirm, and keep this encyclopedia of BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix Programming that I and many others use. WP:NOTTVGUIDE "An article on a broadcaster should not list upcoming events". - If the fact that some people add the upcoming weeks shows that BBC posts is the issue, we can keep it to past shows only.

  "As a result of the scanning process, much of the data extracted from Radio Times needed to be tidied up. We have run a crowd-sourcing exercise, asking members of the public to correct typos and errors in the text to make them accurately reflect the Radio Times magazine entries." • Keep I came across the Flume essential mix on YouTube and wanted to see what other mixes there were. This page definitely helped me find the mixes quickly and easily via the tables. I don't know why you would want to delete this page it certainly helped me. I'm sure there are dozens of other people who also did the same thing.
