List of Steam titles[edit]

WP:NOTDIRECTORY and probably some other parts of WP:NOT. Barely maintainable, many games are added/removed all the time including ones that aren't notable. It is the equivalent of List of DVDs available through Netflix/List of TV shows available through the iTunes store. Or List of x available through y, replace x with a type of product, and y with a service name. Basically for the same reason the category was deleted in 2008. And yes I am aware of WP:OTHERCRAPEXISTS, but I provided other examples of articles where to show where my reasoning would still apply.Otterathome (talk) 16:46, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keep - Requiring occasional updating as time goes on doesn't mean its "barely maintainable". Some of the titles might not be notable, but most are - either way that factor is irrelevant. The analogy to a "list of DVDs available through Netflix" misses the mark considerably; its more comparable to the likes of List of Games for Windows titles, List of WiiWare games, List of Xbox Live Arcade games and other similar gaming lists, especially as the service has moved beyond mere distribution. A deficit in sources for release dates and the like is the list's only major drawback, though they are readily available online. -- Sabre (talk) 18:47, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Those are digital distribution services which come with the gaming consoles. Steam doesn't come with PCs. And List of Games for Windows titles is a class of retail published games and is also definitive, unlike this.--Otterathome (talk) 19:04, 31 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Keep as an informative, useful list, as it contains more information than just being a mere list. Being difficult to maintain should also not be a reason for deletion, instead the article can be flagged as requiring an update, thus informing the reader it may be out of date, and allowing other wikipedians to attempt to improve it. --Taelus (talk) 23:50, 4 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
